 Chapter 4

“Um sure, come in.” I leave the door open for Amelia to walk in and she sits down. “Your red are you hot? It gets so hot in the sunset tribe all the time. There’s an air conditioner in here and it can go really low.” I stare at the ceiling. “There’s so many things here, and I just don’t think I’m fit out for this. I’m just a nobody that’s having a weird dream, that’s all.” My eyes burn. “Byleth, you’re really an amazing person. We haven’t had a newcomer in what? 3 years? Pinch yourself. I guarantee that you’re not in a dream.” Amelia says. I pinch myself and wince. “You know what’s crazy? The element dragon is still out there. No one has even seen her since the war.” Amelia’s face turns dark and she is silent for a while. I feel horrible, like I somehow am hurting the tribe, even though I know I’m not. “Um, so what else do people do here?” I ask to break the awkward silence that has formed. “Oh, you know, train for their powers...eat, drink, swim and that’s pretty much it. Only, there’s a LOT of other things to do here but you and me simply aren’t just old enough yet.” Amelia explains. “Ohh, that makes sense.” I respond. “See? We’re friends already!” Amelia smiles at me and I decide to smile back. “So, what do sunset elf friends do in their freetime?” I ask Amelia. “Well, we could do like makeup and try out new dresses and everything but you know, the sun is about to set so we don’t want to be late.” Amelia explains. “I know that we have our powers and stuff replenished at sunset but what else happens?” I ask Amelia. “Well, sometimes people look at it as a date, some people ask their boyfriends or girlfriends out for the sunset and it’s considered a really nice gesture. Other than that, it’s just a party that lasts. When the stars come out though, everyone has to go inside because that’s when the twilight dragons come out to replenish their powers. If anyone is found out of their house below the stars at night, they will be punished severely and can even be put to death.” She explains. “Wow, they're that violent?” I question. “Yes, mainly because whenever sunset dragons come out under the stars, they drain the power of the twilight tribe and when a sunset dragon goes out at the sunrise, they drain power from the sunrise dragon tribe. Basically, no one can go out if it’s not their designated time to be out. Of course we sunset dragons can be  outside in the day but not at night. That’s what happened when the element dragon came. It went insane and drained all powers from all tribes. Our world was ruined for five years. But luckily, there isn’t an element dragon in any dragon tribe at this moment so we have nothing to worry about.” She continues. I laugh uneasily. Could I go insane just like the other element dragon? Could I destroy the dragon world again? I’m afraid of what I can do now though, I can’t believe that I haven’t blown it yet. Amelia looks out the window and grabs my hand to go to the sunset.

I see Corrin there with her friends again and decide to go over and say hi. “I’ll be right back Amelia, save me a spot!” I rush over to Corrin. “Hey Corrin!” I say. “Oh hey Byleth! How was your tour with my brother?” Corrin asks. “Great! We got to see everything, the stores, the bakeries, and then he showed me my house!” I say. “Well that’s cool, you’d better get to your seat Byleth, unless you want to sit with us.” She gestures around her circle of friends. “Oh, I’m fine. I have a friend that is saving a spot for me but nice seeing you again!” I walk away back toward where me and Amelia sit. “Good timing, it’s just about to start!” Amelia hands me a box of popcorn and I eat it as I watch. Suddenly, everyone starts groaning but I don’t and I notice that William doesn’t either. “Amelia! What’s going on?” I panic. “Someone’s draining our power. Someone from another tribe is out, we’re losing our power quickly and for some reason you aren’t affected…”

Before I wrap up this chapter and this art, I would like to say that in the past I have started books and have never finished them. This time, I have realized that my family and my friends have showed me how much they love the book so far and I know that this won't be a book where I never finish it. I appreciate it a lot when people tell me how much they love my book. I have never even received fan art before and I am so thankful that I have. I have also never received thoughts on my books other than from my family at home (Which I still appreciate) and that is super cool too. So thank you everyone for supporting me!
